About Ms Wurm

Hello there!

I 'm excited you stopped in.  Here is a little bit about me..

I was raised by a Don family—my dad (of the OG first graduating class of Arroyo) is the one responsible for the design of the Don logo and mascot.  My Mom, Aunt, Uncles, sister and cousins are all Dons.

I am a Manor girl and the last of the Titans.  I am in the last graduating class of Marina High School, the class of 1982.

I earned my BA in Human Development with a Minor in American Sign Language from Cal State Hayward (now CSEB) in 1987. I spent 10 years at the California School for the Deaf as first a classroom aide, then an ASL mainstream interpreter then a classroom teacher.

I earned my teaching credential in Health Sciences from National University – San Jose in 1996, where I was led to San Lorenzo High.

I have spent a total of 27 years in the district:  21 years at San Lorenzo High School
where I taught Health, then created the first American Sign Language program for San Lorenzo Unified and the Bay Area, was Activities Director for over 15 years, and was the cheerleading coach for over 20.
The last 5 years at Washington Manor Middle School where I was the  Activities Director / Leadership teacher, TUPE Coordinator, Peer Helpers/Conflict Mediation Teacher, 6th grade wheel Learning to Lead Teacher, and Yearbook teacher / advisor.

I am looking forward to taking a step back, return to high school and continue where it all started... Health!

Excited to meet you all!
