About Me

Hello amazing scholars!
I am excited to be your teacher this academic year. I began my teaching career in the year 2000 as a home economics teacher at Tennyson high school in Hayward. I joined San Lorenzo Unified school district in  2002 teaching home economics at Bohannon middle school for two years. After Bohannon, I was transferred to Arroyo High school, a community I have enjoyed working in for the last 18 years. I earned my B.A. and teaching credential in History with a minor in Home Economics from the University of Eastern Africa (Baraton). I also earned an M. A. in history with an emphasis in education from California State University East bay.

I currently teach world history, American government and economics. My goals as an educator are to teach students to think critically, act with empathy and integrity, advocate for themselves and their communities and embrace the idea that there is always more to learn hence, become lifelong learners with a growth mindset.

When I am not teaching, you will most likely find me at home hanging out with my husband and children. I enjoy reading, gardening, travelling and being in nature.

I will be available to answer questions between 8:00 A.M and 4:00 P.M every day of the week .Students and parents can contact me through email  at [email protected] and I promise to respond ASAP.
